Truitt has been taking his bottles for Leisel so well, that the doctor decided since she will be the one feeding him at home anyway, to go ahead and pull his feeding tube. He is now scheduled to come home Thursday morning! He still has to continue to eat well, have full diapers, and pass a car seat test in order to keep that plan, but he is well on his way!
Leisel’s mom left this morning for 3 days and will be back Thursday night, so we are doing a little shuffling and scrambling at the house to get everything ready for him to come home. Once again, Truitt has surpassed the expectations, and is going home sooner than anyone thought! Since e eats better for Leisel than he does for the nurses, Leisel needs to be there for as many feedings as possible before he comes home. She will be rooming in with him at the hospital tomorrow night and doing all of his care and feedings while the nurses just observe him.
Now that he is scheduled to come home, they are making appointments for him to see the pediatric orthopedic specialists for his hands and feet. We are praying they can see him as early as Friday, and that they will have some idea of how to help the swelling in his hands and feet.
They believe that Leisel’s head aches are caused by muscle exhaustion due to lack of sleep, so we are praying for rest for her somehow in the next 24 hours. Sleep should be a little easier to acquire once Truitt is home.
He has one last blood draw in the morning that will check his direct bilirubin levels. If it is low enough, we might not even have to bring him home on any medication. However, we have been told that they usually come down very slowly.
Praises:

- Smooth transition for the whole family as he moves home
